We Bid Adieu – 2014 High School Seniors

We had the pleasure of photographing some incredible high school seniors last year, and now we have the sad duty of watching them head off to college. You see, these aren’t just any three seniors, they were also members of the youth group at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (the youth group Greg leads with a lot of heart and passion). So before they all depart, we wanted to take the time to make sure we highlight their awesomeness and wish them well as they turn the next chapter. And don’t worry, there may or may not be photos of random lunch gatherings in the near future.

First, there’s Jack. Jack is one insanely talented soccer player. Not only did he win several awards during his junior and senior years at Hylton High School, but he’s also headed to Binghamton University to play on the college team! In addition to being a talented athlete, Jack is also incredibly intelligent, honest, and funny. We will definitely miss him, his crazy laugh, and his thought provoking questions when youth group starts again in the fall.

Then there is Ashley, the gorgeous redhead with a heart of pure gold. She’s a talented musician and athlete, and she’s off to Virginia Tech in just a few short weeks! Ashley and I first bonded on an early girls coffee date during a trip to the ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans in 2012. We fast became friends whilst inhaling some beignets, giving ourselves powdered sugar mustaches, and laughing until we cried. Good times. Needless to say, she will definitely be missed!

And finally, there’s Zak. He’s the talented musician and scientist who is off to Virginia Tech to major in Engineering. And he’s JUUUST a bit of a ham (as you can see in his last set of pictures). Zak is the guy who will do crazy stuff for a laugh or a good time: create a “free hugs” sign and carry it all around New Orleans; wear a morphsuit – you know, like the power rangers wore; and crack a joke or use a funny voice at a moment’s notice. We will definitely miss his energy and humor this year.

I know this isn’t “goodbye,” but rather “see you later!” We wish them all the best and can’t wait to see what they do next!
