The Vasek Family: A Sunny Neighborhood Walk

We’re going to just come out and say it: Dogs are the best. Whenever a couple or family asks us to include their dog in the photo session, something inside us gets all giddy. Though we are avid dog lovers, we don’t currently own one. Thankfully, this year has been filled with a mix of dog sitting, airbnb stays that included k9 companions, and getting to know our clients’ furry friends.

So when the Vasek family asked us to join them on a walk, we got almost as excited as Roscoe! He knew how to be just hammy enough to not only draw our attention, but also receive constant tummy rubs from his loving peoples.

And Roscoe sure knows how to pick a family. The Vaseks are a delightful mix of genuine kindness and spunk. When I first met Kim during a training over 4 years ago, we were fast friends. She has this way of speaking the truth with just enough humor to make conversations flow in the most enjoyable way. And though her husband, Jay, has a steady, quiet demeanor, once you get him talking, his epic Texas drawl will delightfully steal the conversation. And Owen is an old soul with the vitality of a soccer-playing youth. He is so well-spoken, polite, and known for raising the energy level at a moment’s notice (just get him talking about soccer, tacos, or any of his many other passions). Together, they make for a seriously tight-knit, fun-loving family that we adore spending time with. After sessions and delivery dates, we usually end up chatting for extended amounts of time about life’s adventures. This is the second year we’ve had the privilege to photograph this incredible family and we hope it is an annual tradition that continues for many more to come!
