Rachel’s Birthday!

Allow me to gush for just a moment.

I am married to a beautiful, vibrant, amazingly talented woman.  I fell in love with Rachel as soon as we met, and I can’t imagine my life without her.

And today, March 2, is her BIRTHDAY!!!

I’m a bit excited to celebrate with her.  I decided to wake her up a little earlier than usual this morning with her favorite coffee and breakfast in bed with a bouquet of flowers.  I also got her a game she’s been wanting since we played it at her brother’s house during our Christmas trip to Oregon, The Contender!  (All right, who’s coming over to play?)

So in honor of Rachel, I’ve decided to take over the blog today and tell you just a few reasons why I love her and why I am so excited to ring in 34 with her!

Oh I could count the ways, but here’s a few major things I love about her:

She’s encouraging.  It doesn’t matter what’s going on, Rachel has my back (not to mention the back of anyone else she cares about!).  Not only does she give me the extra strength I need to carry on in tough situations, she dives in to help because she believes in me.  She is always working to improve herself and the relationships she has with those around her.

She’s fun to be around.  I usually feel like I’m a pretty serious person, but I seriously can’t help but have fun around her.  She brings out the best in me and everyone around her.

She’s generous.  With her time, with her talents, with her love, Rachel gives so much of herself.  She is open about her thoughts and feelings, and loves creating environments of nurturing and honest sharing.

She’s adventurous.  It doesn’t matter if it’s planning a road trip or trying a new restaurant, she is up for it and leads the charge.

We have SO MUCH to look forward to together this year!

Over the past year, Rachel and I have worked to better define our life goals, and embraced the mantras of intentionality and experiences over things.    This year, I hope to better put those things into practice.  I want to share more adventures with her, because that’s what’s important to us.  I want to encourage her more and better show her how much I believe in her.  I want to be more present with her, and be more open with her.

I want to help her make 34 her best year yet.

Whatever adventures come our way this year, I’m here with you and I can’t wait to share them with you, Honey Bear!  I love you with all my heart and soul!  Happy 34th!
