Launching Into the Holidays

Getting ready for the holidays always reminds me of prepping for a big trip.

All the lists, last minute trips to the store (usually the same one time and time again), packing (Halloween Decorations), unpacking (Christmas Decorations), and improvising those few things we forgot after checking the list at least 46 times.

And it is all worthwhile. We wouldn’t trade any of it for the sense of eager anticipation, the time reminiscing and laughing with family, and all the joy that the holiday season brings.

This past weekend was spent doing a deep cleaning of the kitchen and dining room, creating a mouth-watering Thanksgiving menu, putting grocery lists on post-its and traveling all over town for ingredients. It was a fun adventure that we sincerely missed while trying out a few new traditions over the past few years.

We realized that our hearts truly long to host Thanksgiving, as it capitalizes on our strengths of cooking, creativity, and cultivating a sense of welcome. We hope to continue our tradition of hosting this wonderful launch into the season of joy, gratitude, family, and friends for many years to come.
