Carla & Scott: A Festive Garden Wedding

The day started and ended with festive music. Though not the kind you would normally expect in September. You see, Carla loves Christmas. Let us re-emphasize, she L-O-V-E-S Christmas. Perhaps this is the reason for her contagious smile, infectious laughter, and radiating warmth. (We’re starting to think that the reason she loves the holidays so much is because joy literally runs through her veins – so she feels most at home in December when the rest of the world fills with holiday spirit.) So it wasn’t a surprise when the day literally began and ended with Christmas music. Pandora was cheerfully playing on the iPhone stashed in a makeshift coffee mug speaker while those at the house getting ready sang and boogied along. And the celebration concluded with one of her favorites, All I Want For Christmas Is You by Maria Carey, blasting from the speakers.

Scott, is the perfect balance for Carla. He love sports (especially the Washington Nationals), good whiskey, and making Carla laugh. He has a quiet but powerful sentiment that was obvious anytime he looked at his bride on the day of the wedding. Brief conversations with his groomsmen revealed what an incredible friend he is. Over and over again we heard about a man who is there when you need him, who keeps in touch with those he loves (even when they live across the country), and will see you through all of life’s triumphs and challenges. He is the roots of Carla’s Christmas tree.

All day long the dance floor filled with smiles, laughter, and some pretty epic moves. Yard games were played throughout the evening. A quick drizzle brought just enough rain to usher in luck, and plenty of guests continued partying outside the tent regardless. After the “official” party at the garden center came to a close, Carla and Scott kept the celebration going. They booked a conference room at the hotel so they could stay up until the wee hours of the night spending time with friends, talking, laughing, reminiscing, and dreaming.

After getting to know these two over the past few years, we are proud and grateful to call them friends. And Carla, only 12 more weeks til Christmas, and 49 weeks until your first anniversary!!
