Tasha & Ryan – Longwood Garden Engagement

I first met Tasha & Ryan 3 years ago at another friend’s wedding in Panama City, Panama. It was friendship at first conversation! These two were so authentic, so laid back, and so comfortable together, it was hard to believe they’d only been dating a few months. They are the type of people you can just tell will be together for the long haul. So when they contacted us last fall about photographing their upcoming wedding, Greg and I said “just tell us when and where!” They said, “Mexico!” We said, “Awesome!”

When we were planning the engagement session in a garden setting, we figured April would be a good month for fairly dependable spring weather. Boy were we wrong! I never thought we’d be rescheduling an April engagement session because of snow and sub-freezing temperatures! But it taught us something so valuable about Tasha & Ryan…they are such warm and flexible people, both with each other and with themselves. First, they insisted that Greg and I have dinner with them on Saturday night and cooked an incredible meal complete with chocolate cherry wine and a lesson on Minions (Tasha is all about the Minions!). Needless to say, the night was filled with laughter, great conversation, and an incredibly calm couple – seriously, they weren’t stressed about the wedding at all!

We love these two and were SO excited we got to travel with them to one of their favorite places on Sunday morning – Longwood Gardens. Not only is it a breathtakingly beautiful location, but it was also where Ryan proposed! It’s not often we get to return to such a meaningful location with our clients! Once we got to “the spot”, Greg and I made sure to back away for a few minutes and allow them to just be in the moment and remember that experience privately. It was so touching to see how much it still impacted them so many months later!
